Malteser International, through the African Institute for Health and Development (AIHD) and with funding from German Ministry for Economic Development (BMZ), implemented a three-year project aimed at strengthening health care system through improved capacity in management of selected Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) within Nairobi’s informal settlements. The project utilized a paper based Electronic Medical Records (EMR) System designed to provide a robust interface between clinical patient management and reporting systems. It also hoped to provide NCD data linkages between the facilities
and the District Health Information System (DHIS) that would inform planning and budgeting for NCD management in Nairobi County.
