She holds a master’s degree (Project Planning and Management, University of Nairobi) and a bachelor’s degree (Social Work, Catholic University of Eastern Africa). She is currently undertaking a PhD in Gender and Development Studies at the University of Nairobi. Alice is responsible for day-to-day management and running of the office by providing strategic leadership to ensure that the organizational outcomes and objectives are delivered. She oversees fundraising, ensures sound financial practices and performs other administrative duties. Before joining the Institute, she worked for various institutions including Coalition of Violence against Women (COVAW), Children’s Legal Action Network (CLAN), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and Child Welfare Society of Kenya (CWSK). She has hands-on experience on qualitative and quantitative research as well as gender and children’s issues, which continue to be a major focus for AIHD.
